Screw Dehydrators

Description

Manufactured by KPI-JCI in the U.S., screw dehydrators are a viable alternative to dewatering machines, providing large flow rates with reduced space occupancy. At the same time, they allow the material to be washed and light, floating parts (wood, roots, peat) to be removed by countercurrent water flow.

Features

Material conveying augers can be covered with polyurethane plates, or with wear-resistant steel plates, depending on the application.

A variant of these machines, called a “coarse material washer,” is a mixture of a vane desilter (in the first few meters of the auger) and a classic screw classifier (in the final part). This machine accomplishes the dual function of disintegrating the inert, with vigorous friction realized by the paddles, and then transporting the washed material to the outlet, drying it from the water.
